01 Project Background
The customer is a world-renowned automotive parts manufacturer. The automotive parts assembly line is a high-speed automated operation. To achieve the highest production efficiency at the optimal cost, during the assembly of seat-back adjusting motors, robots are required to precisely place and assemble circlips into the parts.
02 Project Objectives
Use vision sensors to guide robots in precisely placing circlips and detect the presence or absence of circlips?
03 Challenge
1. Precisely guide the robot to find the position and angle of the circlip;
2. The circlip surface has a lot of oil stains and reflects seriously;
3. One controller drives two sensors, detecting two objects simultaneously, left and right;
4. Display the circlip detection status in real time and save detection log photos for later traceability.
04 Solution
1. Heinxs HVG series high-performance 2D vision sensor: resolution up to 20 megapixels, advanced optical calibration, with functions of guidance positioning, gripping and angle alignment. In this case, the Heinxs vision sensor guides the robot for precise positioning, calculates the offset based on product position changes, transmits the offset to the robot for movement correction, accurately finds the angle and position, and automatically aligns and places the circlip;
2. Heinxs HVC series high-performance vision controller: supports up to 4 Heinxs vision sensors for simultaneous detection, with a built-in Intel multi-core processing chip for faster processing;
3. Heinxs HMV series multi-camera vision software: can connect up to 6 Heinxs vision sensors for vision inspection, monitor the working status of each vision sensor or the preprocessed images, with an intuitive and friendly interface that allows manual editing of detection result display on screen;
4. Heinxs high-brightness ring vision light source: highlights the 3D feature information of workpieces; high light concentration, high brightness, good uniformity, and a relatively small illumination range.
